Remember being stuck at the wobbly card table set up in the middle of your grandparent's living room, far away from the adults so they could see you, but not hear you? Since we were young and couldn't hold a conversation while eating, all it made us do is yell louder for our parents or race to see who could get to the adult table faster. So now that I am a Mom...here is what I do to keep children at the children's table: I line the table with butcher paper, add some festive place settings and a box of crayons - hours of fun....who are we kidding - maybe 30 minutes of fun, but we will take what we can get!

I love place cards - they are a perfect finishing touch to any table setting. This is a great idea for fall and will coordinate beautifully with your Thanksgiving!

Who doesn't love a loaf of crunchy bread? If your host or hostess chooses to use it that evening, it will only compliment, not compete, with their menu.  Adding the seasonal tea towel is a nice decorative touch plus a useful gift.

I have posted my first EVENT.....photos and details from my son's first birthday party.! I also plan on sharing some of my favorite event planning tips and techniques, plus other party planning fun finds. Stay tuned.....

I thought I would start my first entry by explaining the title of my blog. Everyone seems to be getting busier and busier, working more and more, essentially putting work first. One of the things I love most about Guam is that "Friends and Family come first." We have the luxury of living on a small island and being able to get together easily. Since we are on a small island in the middle of the Pacific, our friends are our family and that is why we are all so close. This has become most important as we are there for each other during births, deaths, holidays, the good times and bad.  Sometimes life on Guam can be challenging, but it all works out as long as you put your friends and family first.
