This adorable 6th Birthday Party was submitted by my friend, Jenny Lord. She did an amazing job carrying the Scooby Doo theme throughout the entire party!  I love her creative use of dog bowls on the "Scooby Snack" table!

What a great idea for Super Bowl or Cinco de Mayo! Individual items are easy to maintain on your buffet and are great for portion control. You can turn a simple plastic cup into an attractive menu item for your next party plus less clean up!

This ensures that your guests will NOT misplace their glass at your next party. I would recommend purchasing a dozen or 2 of inexpensive all purpose wine glasses to dip in the chalkboard paint. This is a good tip whether you are dipping them in chalkboard paint or not - have a set of "party glasses" that can be easily replaced and save your beloved crystal or "fancy glasses" for intimate dinner parties and special events.

Here is another example of using a gift as decor for a baby shower. This is my favorite gift to give to parents! I purchase a raw wood box from a craft store and line the inside with a fabric that matches the baby's room (using a glue gun). Parents love to receive personalized gifts so I take the theme of the baby's room and place it on the front of the box. It is THE most useful gift....you always need more storage plus you can fill it with wonderful items such as books, bath accessories, clothes, etc... For this gift, I also made a door sign and photo holder to match his room. If you are hosting the shower - this would be a perfect centerpiece.

I love to use gifts as decor especially for wedding and baby showers! It is an easy theme that your mom or bride-to-be will appreciate since she has registered for these gifts to match her baby's room or home, plus it eliminates the needs to spend any extra money on decorations for the party.
For example, string a clothesline with clothes for the baby, make or purchase a diaper cake to include items from the registry, use toys as buffet decor - even the favor boxes add a pop of color. For a wedding shower, you can make or purchase a "kitchen cake" full of tea towels and utensils from the registry, use various vases as a centerpiece or even place a floral arrangement in the blender the couple has added to their wish list.
