How adorable is this for Christmas morning? You can pre-set them on your table or put them together as a family for breakfast. Use strawberries or apples and alternate them with bananas to look like a candy cane!

The holiday season can be so busy and can become quite expensive. Here is a simple idea on how to get your girlfriends together and not have the stress of planning a full blown party. This time of the year beverage companies will partner up with many bars and lounges to promote their new products. A great place to find these promotions are in hotel bars and lobby lounges. With a simple electronic invitation, you can ask your friends to bring a wrapped ornament to exchange, let them know of the beverage promotion for the evening and just wait for the RSVPs. I would recommend calling ahead to the bar to reserve a table plus you can pre-order some appetizers to be ready when you all arrive.

Here is an easy and affordable addition to your holiday table setting. I would recommend using hot glue to secure the candy canes together for extra support and then tying a ribbon for decoration.

Instead of using a crockpot or chaffing dish to keep this chowder warm, I purchased 2 bricks from a local hardware store, placed a sterno flame underneath and the stockpot directly on the bricks. The chowder stayed warm all night and blended into the buffet beautifully.

The answer is to ALWAYS RSVP! Whether you plan on attending an event or are unable it is a common courtesy to respond. The number of guests at any event is everything...how many chairs to set-up, how much food to prepare and how large of an area you will need to keep your guests comfortable.  Once again, you are trying to produce a memorable experience - you don't want their experience to be that there was not enough food, no where to sit or "it was so crowded I left early." So this holiday season and throughout the rest of the year, be kind to your hosts and remember to always RSVP.
